As Chelsea began their season with a tough clash against Manchester City away from home, Sterling was left out of Enzo Maresca's squad for the game. This prompted the winger's entourage to immediately question Chelsea's intentions, and clubs have now been put on alert as to the availability of the winger for a summer move.

As per The Daily Mail, Juventus had registered their interest in Sterling's skillset before the drama unfolded on Sunday. The Italian side are keen to bring Sterling to Italy as the Bianconeri look to regain their previous superiority in the domestic circuit.

However, if Juventus are seriously considering bringing Sterling to the Allianz Stadium, they will, first and foremost, have to arrange a few departures from the club. The Serie A side cannot afford the England international's reported hefty £325,000-per-week wages and will have to enact sales. It has been reported that Italy's Euro 2020 star Federico Chiesa is unwanted by Thiago Motta and his potential sale could free up the wage bill for Sterling's arrival.
WHAT NEXT FOR STERLING?
It will remain to be seen if the England international will be keen to shift his entire family to Italy and leave the United Kingdom this late in his career. Even if he does decide to move, Juventus will have to quickly strike a deal with Chelsea with the transfer deadline fast approaching.
