Winger frozen out at Old TraffordReady to return to GermanyTerms of deal still being discussedWHAT HAPPENED?
The England international winger severed ties with the Bundesliga giants back in 2021 when securing a £75 million ($95m) transfer to Old Trafford. Things have not played out as planned for the 23-year-old back in his homeland, with only 12 goals recorded through 82 appearances.

Sancho has been frozen out completely this season, with Erik ten Hag asking questions of his attitude and commitment to the cause, and a January switch has been in the pipeline for some time. Dortmund are keen to be reunited with a familiar face, but no agreement has been reached as yet.
WHAT WATZKE SAID
Delivering an update on that process, with it initially suggested that Sancho would be back in Germany by now, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told : “We are in dialogue with Manchester United. We want to bring him to us on loan. That's no secret. But we are not yet ready to announce a result.”
GOALWHAT NEXT FOR SANCHO?
Dortmund are still discussing what proportion of Sancho’s salary they will need to take on if a loan deal is pushed through, with the out-of-sorts forward reportedly earning £250,000-a-week in England. United are prepared to cover some of that cost in order to get an unwanted asset off their books.
