According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are still interested in Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu, and fans are furious about the links.
If there’s one thing Leeds know about, it’s signing unknown players from lesser leagues and hoping for the best, and fans can’t believe the club hasn’t learned from past mistakes.
According to the Daily Mail, Leeds chased Mbakogu in January, but Serie B side Carpi refused to sell while they were chasing promotion to Italy’s top tier.
The Nigerian born striker has now obtained an Italian work permit, which will allow him to move to an English side if Carpi’s price is met.

Leeds will reportedly have to offer somewhere in the region of £4million to secure the striker, but fans are fed up of these sorts of signings, pointing to Caleb Ekuban as a warning to avoid Mbakogu.
Ekuban was also signed from a lesser Italian side, though he had been on loan in Albania, and the 24 year-old has scored just once in the league since his move to Elland Road.
Mbakogu has found the net just six times this season, leading fans to once again question the men in charge.
