Ramsdale is on the verge of departing north London after his current employers agreed a deal with Southampton worth an initial £18 million ($24m) that could rise to £25m ($33m). The Gunners stopper has been linked with a move away from the Emirates since being relegated to second-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of David Raya last summer.

The 26-year-old's exit has been a long time coming and the change is needed if Ramsdale is to keep himself in the frame for a spot in the England squad. He sat on the bench for the Three Lions during Euro 2024 but will fancy himself to cause a headache for interim boss Lee Carsley with some regular game time for Southampton.
The deal also allows Arsenal to push forward in signing Joan Garcia as his replacement. Mikel Arteta is keen to get a €30million (£25m/$33m) over the line before the transfer deadline.
DID YOU KNOW?
Ramsdale's last Premier League appearance came in March, in a 2-1 victory over Brentford. It was one of six outings he made in the top flight, but his only one so far in 2024.
