Roy Hodgson has given an update on the situation surrounding his contract at Crystal Palace, as reported by football.london.
What did he say?
The 72-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park comes to an end in the summer of 2020, which has led to questions being asked about when it will be renewed.
Hodgson has been at the Palace helm since taking over in September 2017 and it seems as though he will be staying past his current deal.

However, he admitted there have been no more talks about agreeing on one just yet: “No, we haven’t talked about it for a while. I don’t have any reason to doubt the intention from the club is still the same but we haven’t had any discussions.

“To be fair Doug Freedman has been very busy running around for the January transfer window, Steve Parish has spent some time in America.
“We’re all getting on with our jobs and they know if they want me to stay, I am prepared to do so.”
Relaxed view
In some ways it is remarkable that both sides are so relaxed about the situation, considering that, in theory, Hodgson could find another club or Palace could let his contract run down and get a new manager.
Though it just goes to show the mutual respect between board and manager, as well as the trust that is being shared by them at the moment.
Hodgson currently has the club sitting 12th in the table, level on points with Arsenal, so there is definitely a reason for satisfaction.
It can be considered that there is an opportunity for the club and manager to move forward together, and it would be imagined that those talks would begin following the culmination of the January transfer window as to not interfere with getting new recruits.
Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings….
In other news, it has been confirmed that a Palace man will be missing the Christmas period.
