Everton attacker Alex Iwobi has been talking to the club’s official website about how he is getting on at Goodison Park, and revealed how he has bought into the whole ethos surrounding the Merseyside outfit.
What did he say?
Well, it hasn’t been the best of starts to the Nigerian’s career in the north-west following his summer move from Arsenal, with him scoring two goals and providing one assist in 21 appearances in all competitions to date, as well as missing seven matches in recent weeks because of a hamstring issue.
The initial £28m addition did make his comeback in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI for the dramatic 3-2 win away at Watford on Saturday, and has been talking about life in a blue shirt.
The 23-year-old told Evertonfc.com: “The Evertonians here, not just the players but the fans and staff… everyone wants to give 100 per cent.
“I am enjoying that side of the game. It has made me a new man in that sense.
“I wasn’t particularly like that [before coming to Everton] but I have had to buy into it and show more hunger when I am playing and towards the fans.
“Here, I have to focus tactically when we do not have the ball. I have to track back a bit more, carry out more defensive duties.
“No matter who I play for, I give 100 per cent. Everton are making me do that and I am enjoying it.”

Everton are a good fit for Iwobi
The attacker’s comments suggest he didn’t always have that defensive responsibility when he was an Arsenal player, but it is a different story now.
Ancelotti will demand that his wide players get back and support their full-backs defensively when Everton are being attacked, but that they must also make a big impact in the final third when the Toffees are going forward, too.
Did he really play for us?! No Everton fan has managed to name all of these obscure Toffees players….
Iwobi is clearly enjoying that side of the game as well as the whole Everton experience in general, with the team back by fans that demand 100% effort from the players.
The 23-year-old may have got a little lost at the Emirates prior to his exit, but it appears as though there is no danger of that happening at Goodison as well with Ancelotti in charge and a set of demanding supporters.
