Leeds have a number of exciting young players coming through the Thorp Arch system at the moment from Alfie McCalmont and Mateusz Bogusz to Ryan Edmondson too.
But none of them were grabbing the headlines on Monday afternoon as instead Robbie Gotts took the plaudits from Leeds fans for his display for the U23s.
The academy were once unbeaten and had even recorded a 6-0 win over Watford but they’ve now lost two games on the spin since then.
Monday’s performance saw them defeated by Crewe but Gotts was on the scoresheet with a neat finish from close range.
It appears as though supporters were buzzing with his efforts during and after the game as one hailed him as their best player.
A fellow individual was very analytical over the teenager explaining that he reads the game well. Another fan was rather baffled that he hadn’t been given a chance in the first-team.
The 19-year-old appeared in midfield on Monday but can also play on the right side of the defence. Gotts has appeared multiple times on the bench for the senior side but is yet to actually play.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
