The Lionesses head to Switzerland to defend their European title next month but Wiegman's job will not come under pressure if they fail to do so. FA CEO Mark Bullingham has confirmed that the plan is for her to stay on for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.

Bullingham said: "We're delighted that Sarina's in place until 2027 and I don't see any scenario changing that. I think she's done a phenomenal job and we're really happy to have her with us. She's a very important part of our organisation."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Wiegman's future had not necessarily been certain after a raft of retirements and pull-outs from the England squad in the build-up to this summer's tournament hinted at some discontent. Mary Earps and Fran Kirby both called an end to their international careers, while Millie Bright withdrew from the competition to prioritise her mental health.

England begin their Euros preparation with a friendly against Jamaica on Sunday before their campaign kicks off against France on Saturday July 5.
