Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold made a big impression on the world stage on Thursday night, starting for England against Belgium in their final World Cup group stage match.
He’s just the fourth teenager in history to make a start for the England national team at the tournament and certainly put himself into contention for a starting spot in future, producing a man of the match calibre performance throughout his 79 minutes on the pitch.
It’s the latest milestone on what has been a fairy tale journey for the youngster over the last 12 months, first becoming established in the Liverpool first team before featuring in a UEFA Champions League final and now a World Cup, all at the age of 19.
Liverpool fans certainly seemed impressed with his performance, believing it’s the latest sign that he will go on to become an elite player for the Anfield outfit for years to come.
