It appears that a number of young players will be given the chance to impress for Tottenham Hotspur in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Indeed, an update on the club’s official Twitter account revealed that in addition to the absentees through injury, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier had all been left out of the squad for the European contest.
And it would be fair to say that the news went down well with a lot of the club’s fans, particularly ahead of Sunday’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league.
A number of others, though, were disappointed that Son Heung-min had not been left out of the squad with the South Korean playing a lot of football this season.
Indeed, the attacker has not missed a single game for Spurs since being suspended for the first two matches of the new Premier League campaign.
Son has been terrific – scoring 10 times and registering nine assists in 20 outings in all competitions – and the club’s fans wanted him left at home.
Meanwhile, some of the supporters are looking forward to potentially watching some of the club’s younger players in action.
Tottenham have already booked their spot in the knockout round of the Champions League, whilst they cannot finish in first, meaning that the result is not too important and we could therefore see some Spurs prospects given chances to impress – London Evening Standard reported earlier this week that striker Troy Parrott could feature.
Meanwhile, a number of the club’s fans were absolutely delighted with the performance of one man in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Burnley.
